In this 45-minute interactive session, parents/caregivers will learn about the neuroscience of stress and the critical healing factors. They will engage in strategies to support the reciprocity of well being, having an awareness of stressors, and practicing simple strategies to be more responsive.

Anne Contreras

Director of Programs & National Trainer

Anne Contreras, MACP, MFTi is Director of Programs and national trainer  for Pure Edge, Inc. whose work centers around supporting administrators, educators and students with self-regulation tools to equip them in dealing with the many stressors that can be part of our public education system.

She holds a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Sofia University, formerly known as the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (focus area: global development in South & SE Asia) from San Francisco State University.

She is certified in both Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Advanced Group Therapy Process and has practiced yoga for over 20 years and meditation for over a decade.  She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in International Psychology with a Trauma Services Concentration. She was born and raised in San Francisco and currently lives in the South Bay.
